Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Brentwood Residents Directory. By using the reference, you accept the conditions below. If you do not accept them, please leave the service unused.

1. What This Reference Is

Brentwood Residents Directory is a privately operated reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections related to Brentwood, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the City of Brentwood, Contra Costa County, a California agency, a court, or any records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or material reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
  • Locate someone who is protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
  • Scrape, republish, or copy the content at scale.
  • Interfere with the service, its security, or its normal operation.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

The reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following provisions. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. The material may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links

Government portals, library collections, courts, archives, and sponsored search services set their own terms and privacy practices. Brentwood Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, charges, or handling of information submitted there.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties. No promise is made that a statement is complete, accurate, or current, or that an external portal will work or return a particular result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from the reference or an external resource, including a decision made from a record found through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, and reasonable attorneys' fees that result from misuse of the reference or a violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Layout

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with credit are welcome. Republishing a full page or systematically copying the content is not permitted.

9. Changes to These Terms

A new version may be posted when the terms change. Continuing to use the reference after an update indicates acceptance of the posted version.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a person who violates these terms, abuses the service, or threatens its security. The operator may take that action without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record references concern the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000-7931.000. Consumer privacy references concern the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including Civil Code section 1798.100 and following provisions. Those statutes do not change the separate access rules for courts, voters, vital records, or protected addresses.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
